The Los Angeles Police Academy – Elysian Park Pencil Drawing by Agent Abel Reynoso

May 26, 2020 News

This is an original graphite pencil drawing by retired Department of Justice Agent Abel Reynoso. During the early 1980’s, as an undercover officer with the Los Angeles Police Department, I had the opportunity of working alongside Abel in the narcotics bureau. We were also recruits in the same class. Abel’s a talented artist and an outstanding cop. Steve Polak – Co-Owner Sunset Blvd. Investigations, Inc.

“The Los Angeles Police Academy was originally used as the shooting competition site for the 1932 Olympic Games. Its history begun in 1936, when it became the official site for LAPD training. Until 1995, thousands of officers, including myself, graduated from here to join one of the finest police departments in the world. Jack Webb, first with “Dragnet” then with “ADAM 12″ as well as many other police movies and television shows, like TJ Hooker, made this site a Hollywood legend. The Academy has a special place in my heart, as a recruit, I painted my first of law enforcement mural here. Those paintings, representative of many memories, still decorate the walls of this revered place.” Abel Reynoso Police & Military Art
